Freelance (2015 to Present)
Working at CommonWealth/McCann where I wear many hats. Everything from CD to art director to copy. It’s been a great year working with an amazing group of creatives. I’ve worked on some global branding films and even got the opportunity to work on two Manchester United projects creating content for Chevrolet FC. Besides global I also worked on Chevy trucks as a writer/art director and a variety of projects for Chevrolet commercial trucks and even helped design catalogs for the CRM team.

Hudson Rouge (2012 to 2015)
Creative director on Lincoln retail and CPO. Created and oversaw the production of fully integrated campaigns for national sales events and regional retail advertising that represented 50 percent of the Lincoln marketing spend. Worked with Certified Pre-Owned marketing team to create and rebuild the Lincoln CPO program. Met with clients on a daily basis and with the Marketing Dealer Advisory Board four times a year. That alone should have earned an advertising Purple Heart.

Doner (2006 to 2012)
My first year at Doner I was co-creative director on the U.S. Cellular account. Having automotive experience I was asked to be creative director on Mazda U.S. retail advertising where I happily lead teams for five years on all regional and national retail advertising. My last three years I was also given creative director duties for Mazda Canada where I was responsible for leading creative teams in Toronto and Detroit for all Mazda Canada National and retail advertising. Also lead teams on a variety of pro-bono and non-automotive Canadian accounts. My last year at Doner I was part of the team that helped win the Chrysler Tier II business for all four brands. The campaign was conceived and created in less than 2 months and even picked up a One Show finalist.

Y&R Brands (2004 to 2006)
This was my first dance as creative director on Lincoln/Mercury. Oversaw teams that relaunched the Lincoln/Mercury brand but ran into the beginnings of the great recession and saw the Mercury brand shelved. We gave it our best but it was just bad timing. While there I also had the chance to do some work for the U of M.

Chemistri (2001 to 2004)
While at Chemistri I was co-creative director and helped lead some great creative teams that relaunched the Cadillac brand and created the “
Break Through” campaign. In its first year “Break Through” took Cadillac from 5th in the luxury category to 2nd.

Bozell (1991 to 2001)
This is where I cut my teeth in automotive advertising working on Jeep and Chrysler. It was ten years of the hardest and most rewarding work and I loved it. I went from art director to VP associate creative director and learned a lot along the way. I was also lucky enough to get to work on Hush Puppies, Little Ceasar’s Pizza, Detroit Red Wings, Air Touch cellular and Coleman Outdoor.

Tatham-Laird and Kudner (1988 to 1991)
Ahhh, the early years. Loved living in Chicago and working on a variety of package goods accounts.
I worked on everything from the Lottery to Coors beer. I also studied for a year at Second City and even became part of their training center. A great experience but the call of Jeep was too strong and I found myself heading home to the Motor city.

Wayne State University
I put myself through school by working during the day and attending school at night. It not the fastest plan but I didn’t have any student debt when I finished. Majored in ad design and drank a lot of coffee.
